Arete combines the latest in AI-technology and Natural Language Processing techniques, with the expertise of sport psychologists, educators, coaches, nutritionists and physiotherapists, to give athletes the help they need, in a form they want, and in a way that sticks. The list of topics we cover is growing by the day, each module designed to equip athletes with the tools they need to thrive in the high-pressure sporting world.
Every conversation with the Arete Virtual Coach feels natural, real and personalised. To do this, we embed storytelling and psychology into the very heart of Arete. This ensures athletes can manage their thoughts and feelings in a way that feels intuitive and meaningful. As with natural conversation, every interaction is fluid, unique and laced with just the right amount of wit and inside jokes. And it only gets better! The more that athletes engage, the smarter the Wellbeing Coach and the stronger our content becomes.
We act with compassion and empathy in everything we do. After all, there is no single solution to mental health, it is far more complex than that. Wellbeing fluctuates over time; and we have to adapt with it. We react to mood, context, situations and settings to ensure we deliver solutions that consistently and profoundly resonate with each and every athlete.
We are acutely aware of the sensitivity of the topics we handle and the risks that come with it. As such, Arete has several safety measures embedded into our app. Our #SOS function instantly provides athletes with the help and resources they need, wherever they are in the world. While our Safety Plan allows athletes to proactively identify triggers and establish ways to navigate negative thoughts or feelings.
Our Wellbeing Coach is trained in the latest clinically-validated approaches to sport psychology. Arete integrates traditional methods of sport psychology with approaches of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Our user-centered design advances traditional therapy methods, and creates genuine innovation that enhances meaningful growth.
With the ever-expanding use of digital mental health interventions, and worldwide adoption increasing, the need for validating methods and approaches becomes all the more important. We understand this, and that’s why we are committed to testing efficacy. And we are doing just that - in partnership with Australia’s leading Sport Psychology Department, at Victoria University.
