As Arete hurtles closer and closer to the public launch of its new game-changing app, Arete CEO and founder Kas Taleb has sung the praise of the Techstars SportsTech Melbourne Accelerator Program.
Arete was chosen as one of 10 in the program’s inaugural class which went through an intense, three-month accelerator program which we entered as FitMind and finished as Arete.
Admission to the program alone was no mean feat, with Arete picked from a pool of over 200 applicants.
The program paired Arete and the cohort with 60 mentors, industry leaders and researchers to help transform Arete from an idea to the real-life, tangible application we are testing with a select range of foundation partners today.
The experience gained through the program and the expertise provided incredible value to Kas and the Arete team.
“The Techstars program has given Arete so much to be thankful for,” she said.
“I came in without much of a network in the sporting industry and with something that was only slightly more than an idea.
“At the other end of the program, I have a great network and fully-working product with users on the platform and a huge fan base on social media following and engaged in the work we are doing.
“There’s so much to do but our focus will always be to continue improving our product and that means working on creating the most relevant content for our users.
“We are looking forward to launching our app in the App Store in October and reaching our goal of having 50000 athletes on the platform in the next 12 months.”
As Arete’s team of mental health professionals, including psychologists, educators, physios, coaches and dietitians put the finishing touches on the app, we look forward to sharing some of the great feedback we’ve received from the athletes putting our app through its paces and some of the fantastic features we can’t wait to share with you all.
